Grocery Card Fundraiser

Paving the Road with the Little Things We Do

As parents, we support our children in all the things they do.  We get them to school, we take them to practices, we run them around.  So much of what we do can add to our busy schedules.  Sometimes, it is in the little things that we can support our children too.  As a corps, we are always looking to the future to make this the best possible program for all of our members.  Whether we are looking at paying for buses to events, acquiring new instruments or new uniforms, we need your help.  And your help can come in the simplest way.  All you have to do is change the way you buy your groceries and get your friends and family to do the same.

Through a Scouting friend, we have been given access to a grocery card program as a fundraiser.  The program is very simple.  We sell gift cards for all of the major grocery chains and earn a 5% commission.  Yes, for every $100 gift card sold, we earn $5!  It costs you nothing extra, but all you have to do is change the way that you buy your groceries.  Every week, Jody brings the cards to practice.  Instead of using cash or credit card to purchase your groceries, just bring the cash with you to practice on Wednesdays and buy your groceries with a gift card instead.  If we all make a shift and convince our friends and family to do the same, we will be on our way!

This program is a win-win for everyone.  There is no cost to anyone involved and everyone benefits.  So change your habits, reach out to your friends, talk to employers about possible staff bonuses!  Like you are already doing in so many ways, let’s pave the road to the future for our corps with the little things we do.
